Version: 1.0 Created: 2025-12-13 Author: Golden Thread System
Purpose
This SOP documents how to use the Chat Tagger Wizard (ChatTaggerWizard.html) to organize AI conversations (Claude, ChatGPT) using the Golden Thread system. The wizard provides step-by-step workflows for different scenarios.
Overview
The Chat Tagger Wizard offers four workflow modes:
| Mode | Use Case | Steps |
|---|---|---|
| đ New Project | Starting a fresh project with a new AI conversation | 6 |
| đˇď¸ Tag Existing Chat | Applying an existing Project ID to a conversation | 5 |
| đŚ Archive Sprint | Bulk-processing old chats (Bankruptcy Protocol) | 4 |
| âď¸ Morning Scan | Daily 5-minute review of active projects | 3 |

Workflow 1: New Project

- Generate ID - A unique
PROJ-ADJECTIVE-NOUNID is generated- Enter a project name
- Optionally describe the chat topic

- Google Drive, GitHub, etc.

- Verification - Confirm all steps completed
Output:
- New Project ID generated
- AI chat renamed with ID prefix
- Scatter Index documented

Workflow 2: Tag Existing Chat
Use when: You already have a Project ID and want to tag a new or existing AI conversation with it.
Steps:
- Select Mode - Click âTag Existing Chatâ card
- Select Project - Choose from your ControlTower projects
- Use search to filter
- Enter a topic for this specific conversation
- Mark Up Chat - Rename your AI conversation with the Project ID
- Update Scatter Index - Add the new chat URL to the projectâs links
- Click âAdd Link to Control Towerâ to sync
- Verification - Confirm completion
Output:
- AI chat tagged with existing Project ID
- New link added to ControlTower
Workflow 3: Archive Sprint (Bankruptcy Protocol)
Use when: You have many old, disorganized AI chats and need to bulk-process them.
Philosophy:
âDonât migrate the messâmove it out of sight. Only tag what you actively touch.â
Steps:
- Select Mode - Click âArchive Sprintâ card
- Bankruptcy Protocol - Create archive folders across platforms:
- Local:
D:\Projects\_ARCHIVE_PRE_2025\ - Google Drive:
_ARCHIVE_PRE_2025folder - OneDrive:
_ARCHIVE_PRE_2025folder - Obsidian:
_ARCHIVE_PRE_2025folder - StandardNotes:
#archive-pre-2025tag
- Local:
- Batch Chat Tagger - Go through old chats:
- Tag: Assign a Project ID to chats worth keeping
- Skip: Leave dead chats untagged (they sink to the bottom naturally)
- Summary - Review what was tagged vs. archived
The Touch-to-Tag Rule:
- Only tag chats you actively touch
- Dead chats donât need IDs
- Donât waste time organizing things youâll never revisit
Output:
- Archive folders created
- Active chats tagged with Project IDs
- Old clutter moved out of active workspace
Workflow 4: Morning Scan
Use when: Starting your work day and need to review active projects.
Steps:
- Select Mode - Click âMorning Scanâ card
- Review Active Projects - See all Active/Planning projects from ControlTower
- Select ONE project to focus on today
- Apply the âActive 5 Ruleâ: Only 3-5 projects actually move the needle
- Where Did You Leave Off? - View the projectâs Scatter Index
- Click links to jump directly to Claude chats, folders, etc.
- Add quick notes to the Captainâs Log
- Save notes to ControlTower
The Active 5 Rule:
âYou likely have many âopenâ projects, but only 3-5 are actually moving the needle this week. Focus on those.â
Output:
- Todayâs focus project selected
- Scatter Index reviewed (know where to pick up)
- Notes updated
Data Synchronization
The Chat Tagger Wizard shares localStorage with ControlTower:
- Storage Key:
control_tower_data_v1 - What syncs: All projects, links, notes, status
- Direction: Bidirectional
Changes made in either tool are immediately available in the other (after page refresh).
Chat Naming Convention
Always use this format when renaming AI conversations:
[PROJ-ADJECTIVE-NOUN] Topic Description
Examples:
[PROJ-NEON-WOLF] React Architecture Discussion[PROJ-CYBER-HAWK] Bug Fix for Login Module[PROJ-SOLAR-PHOENIX] Initial Planning
This makes chats:
- â Searchable by Project ID
- â Visually scannable in chat lists
- â Consistently formatted across Claude and ChatGPT
Scatter Index Platforms
The Scatter Index tracks where a project lives:
| Platform | Example Value |
|---|---|
| Claude | https://claude.ai/chat/abc123 |
| ChatGPT | https://chat.openai.com/c/xyz789 |
| Local Folder | D:/Projects/PROJ-NEON-WOLF/ |
| Google Drive | https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/... |
| GitHub | https://github.com/user/repo |
| Obsidian | Projects/PROJ-NEON-WOLF.md |
| Other | StandardNotes, OneDrive, etc. |
Troubleshooting
âNo projects found in Tag Existing modeâ
- Open ControlTower and create projects first
- Or use âNew Projectâ mode to generate a fresh ID
âChanges donât appear in ControlTowerâ
- Refresh ControlTower page
- Both tools use the same localStorage key
âGenerated ID looks familiarâ
- The system checks for duplicates automatically
- If you suspect a collision, regenerate the ID
